You don't have to go through it alone.

TeenShare is a welcoming place for middle- and high-school-aged teens to talk about what they think, feel, and experience — big things, small things, or simply how their day is going.

What is TeenShare?

Sometimes it can feel like there is no right time or place to talk about what we are really thinking, feeling, or going through. TeenShare exists to provide that time and that place — a supportive group where teens can speak openly, listen to one another, and discover they may not be as alone as they feel.

Share

Talk about what is on your mind at your own pace. You can share about the past, something happening now, something you are worried about, or just your day.

Listen

Everyone gets time to speak without interruption. Listening closely can help us practice compassion, empathy, and respect for one another.

Connect

Many people discover that others have gone through, or are going through, similar situations. That shared understanding can make hard things feel less isolating.

“As we share, we learn about ourselves. As we listen, we feel compassion and empathy for others.”

What to Expect

TeenShare meetings are designed around honest sharing, attentive listening, respect, and trust.

Your Time to Share

Each person has a chance to speak without being interrupted. Some meetings may include a topic announced by the coordinator, but you can still talk about what matters to you.

Peer Support

Meetings take place with a group of peers and an adult coordinator who guides the meeting and helps uphold the group expectations.

No Perfect Share

There is no requirement to have the right words. Whether what you share feels good, difficult, ordinary, or complicated, the group is there to listen.

What should I do?

How Sharing Works

You can talk about a difficult situation from the past, something you are currently going through, something you are afraid might happen, or simply tell the group about your day.

If something is happening now

You might share how you hope the situation could change, or one thing you could try doing differently.

If you are sharing about the past

You might encourage someone else by sharing what helped you get through that hard time.

When someone else is speaking

Give them the same uninterrupted space you would want for yourself. Listen first rather than jumping in with questions or advice.

When you are not sure what to say

Start wherever you are. There is no need to make your story sound better, worse, or more polished than it really is.

Why share?

Being heard can matter.

Honesty can bring relief

Keeping thoughts and emotions buried can feel heavy. Speaking honestly about what you think, feel, and experience can create a sense of release and help you understand yourself more clearly.

Listening builds compassion

Hearing another person's experience can help us recognize what we have in common and develop the same understanding and compassion for others that we hope to receive ourselves.

Confidentiality & Trust

TeenShare aims to keep what is shared in a meeting private. The purpose is not to keep secrets; it is to create an environment where trust can grow.

Please do not gossip about what others share. The adult coordinator also agrees not to share what a teen says outside the meeting without permission, except when safety requires action — such as when someone may be harmed or may harm themselves.
Everyone deserves a place to belong

Who Can Attend?

TeenShare welcomes teens of any background, race, and identity. Our goal is to help everyone feel respected, seen, heard, and able to show up as themselves.

For Parents & Caregivers

TeenShare is designed to provide a supportive group setting for teens, with clear expectations around respect, uninterrupted sharing, confidentiality, and safety. Meetings include an adult coordinator who guides the group and helps maintain those expectations.

TeenShare is not presented on this website as a substitute for emergency services, professional medical care, or individual mental-health treatment.
